When we lived in Athens, there were a couple of mostly wild cats that the lady next door fed. If you look in the picture here, you will see the cat on the left, and yes, that is a baby squirrel on the right.
And no, the tree is not in between them, they are both about a foot behind it.
And no, the cat never saw the squirrel , which eventually just walked away, and climbed up another tree.
Cats can really be stupid sometimes.
